Newport is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Oregon. Parking demand throughout the City can varies significantly throughout the seasons. The presence of a robust fishing industry and the varying needs of locals mean that there are several competing interests that must be balanced when managing parking. Lancaster Mobley is currently working with the City to develop a parking management plan for three distinct districts in Newport–City Center, the Bayfront, and Nye Beach. Our work involves data collection and analysis of existing conditions during peak and off-peak seasons, an assessment of capital needs, managing an extensive stakeholder outreach process, and the development of planning and policy language.
