As we look toward wrapping up our 37th year in business, significant changes are planned at Lancaster Engineering. To better reflect the current state of the company and the wide range of services that we offer, Lancaster Engineering is becoming Lancaster Mobley.
Tom Lancaster started Lancaster Engineering in 1983 as a small transportation engineering and planning firm in Oregon. Tom always had a small-business focus, and when Todd Mobley came to work for Tom in 1997, the firm grew to three full-time employees. The firm has grown since that time and expanded with an office in Bend, but we still enjoy the close-knit culture and personal relationships that make our small company great.
Over the life of the company, we’ve seen the profession evolve from the strong car-centric focus of the 80’s and 90’s to today’s emphasis on people, whether they’re walking, biking, using transit, or driving. In 2015 we launched Lancaster Street Lab, a branch of the company that leveraged our strong engineering and data-centric heritage to provide a unique approach to transportation-focused planning for primarily public clients, ranging from dense urban cities to small towns.
Under the new consolidated Lancaster Mobley banner, we’ll continue to offer excellent personalized service to public and private clients with our wide range of expertise in transportation engineering, planning, and consulting. We look forward to being an integral part of the future of transportation with exceptionally thoughtful, purposeful, and individual transportation solutions.
