One of our traffic engineers, Ken Kim, recently traveled to the scenic region of Southern Oregon to conduct vital fieldwork for two of our latest projects–a Taco Bell location in Phoenix, and a Parr Lumber facility in Central Point–where he assessed critical site elements for upcoming Traffic Impact Studies (TIS):

Phoenix Taco Bell

Ken’s first stop was Phoenix, Oregon, where Lancaster Mobley is preparing a TIS for a proposed Taco Bell restaurant. This new location will feature a 2,150-square-foot building with a drive-thru lane. What sets this project apart is the innovative dual drive-thru lane concept, aimed at enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.

The proposed Taco Bell is strategically located at the southwest corner of North Main Street and West 1st Street.

Ken’s primary task in Phoenix was to review the intersection sight distances at the proposed access driveway. Ensuring clear and safe sightlines is crucial for the safety of both customers entering and exiting the drive-thru and for general traffic flow on the adjacent roads. Ken’s expertise in evaluating these conditions will help in formulating a comprehensive TIS that addresses all potential traffic impacts and recommends measures to mitigate any identified issues.

Parr Lumber – Central Point

Ken’s next destination was Central Point, where Lancaster Mobley is preparing a TIS for a new Parr Lumber facility. This development will be substantial, including 50,820 square feet of warehouse space, a fabrication area, and retail space spread across multiple structures.

The Parr Lumber facility is proposed to be located on four properties at 325 Ice Cream Drive. The facility will have three access points along Ice Cream Driveway, Hamrick Road, and Federal Way. Ken measured intersection sight distances at the site access intersections and nearby public roads. His assessment is vital for understanding how the increased traffic from the new facility will interact with existing roadways.

Looking Ahead

Ken Kim’s visit to Southern Oregon underscores Lancaster Mobley’s commitment to providing thorough and precise traffic engineering services. By conducting detailed field assessments, we ensure that our Traffic Impact Studies are grounded in real-world conditions, leading to more effective and practical solutions.

Thanks for all you do Ken!
