Melissa is a Transportation Engineer working from our Bend office.  Representative projects include traffic analysis for a Sisters multifamily and commercial project, new construction of commercial businesses in Culver, the relocation of a business to a Bend location with already established development, and the traffic engineering related to a Bend master plan housing complex affected by, and possibly impacting, several intersections.  For several years she worked for the Department of Defense, United States Air Force, as a Civil Engineer and Project Programmer.

Les Schwab Relocation, Bend, OR
Lancaster Mobley conducted the traffic study to relocate the client’s facility to a new area.  The project involved issues related to the established development at the project site.

J.L. Ward Master Plan, Bend, OR
Responsible for the complex analysis involved with the development of a housing complex in SE Bend.  Many intersections were involved in the analysis of the project site.

Department of Defense, United States Air Force, Project Programmer
Preliminary design of new facilities on base, including coordinating with client, determining square footages, building siting, cost estimating, and required documentation to receive funding.  Preliminary design for 3 base entrance gates incorporating Air Force Entry Control Design guidance.  Identified and measured areas of base housing driveways for repair.  Evaluated and recommended programs and development plans for new construction, renovation, and improvements of real property facilities, including utility systems.

Project Manager for 5 simultaneous airfield projects worth over $12.6M and an additional 9 projects throughout the base.  Design of $1.4M airfield shoulder repair project.  Design of full-depth reconstruction of Alpine Street ($536K) to accommodate fuel trucks.  Design of numerous small projects including working, funding, negotiation, award, and construction issues.  Project Manager for 3 sewer repair design projects as well as a sewer master study to provide improvements to a rapidly deteriorating sewer system.
