Senior Transportation Engineer

Areas of focus: Design.

This position will work closely with senior team members on a variety of transportation engineering design projects. Responsibilities include preparing thorough transportation design services for traffic signals, roundabouts, roadway/area lighting, signing, striping, temporary traffic control, traffic signal communications, pedestrian and bike facility planning and design, and intelligent transportation system (ITS) planning and design.

The ideal candidate has:

Demonstrated experience working on design elements of any of the following: traffic signals, roundabouts, service interchanges, bicycle/pedestrian projects, signing and striping, and construction traffic control plans

Experience in preparation and development of construction documents and supporting reports, plans, quantities, and estimates using highway design manuals, NCHRP guidelines, AASHTO policies, MUTCD, and local design criteria

Experience with internal task management with track record of organizing and training junior-level staff on project components.

An interest in client cultivation and business development.

Experience completing traffic analysis, assessing warrants, and preparing traffic studies is a plus.

Education

Bachelors of Science Degree in civil engineering or a related field in traffic engineering. Professional registration (PE) in the State of Oregon or the ability to gain licensure within 6-months of starting employment.

Experience

5+ years of civil engineering experience, with a background in transportation design

Skills

Software and Traffic Analysis Tools: AutoCAD, AGI, Microsoft Office Suite

Bonus Skills

Synchro, VISSIM, Vistro, GIS, graphic design and experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
